  1. Hi Ravi,

    Interesting indeed ?

Yes, I’ve seen some bloggers use the special characters, though never really gone much into it as I don’t use it all that much, except when the need is there. I agree that the WordPress editor is great there as it has this option and you can do a lot there. I usually stay away from codes, but sometimes you do need them, though I usually work in the text than the visual.

Thanks for sharing. Have a nice week ahead ?

    1. Hi Harleena,

  5. Hi Ravi

Have seen this icon in post editor several times but never knew it has that much utility. ?

While writing a post many bloggers just want to put images, quotes, videos and don’t pay much attention to enhance the impact of a phrase or sentence for which special characters can do a great job.

I am much impressed to see every time you bring quite a unique idea but not very bombastic or hard to implement.

A very simple point you bring to the fore which people may have seen several but never thought in a way as you explain it.

I once read somewhere this is not expertise to narrate the big ideas in a hi-fi language but the real expertise is to make the difficult things easier for your audience to easily act upon them.

Thanks a lot for sharing this very useful post.

    1. Hi Muba,

There are many special characters you can use in your blog posts.

You know most of bloggers just keep writing their words and don’t try to add some extra stuff in their post. They just add images and more but they haven’t noticed that adding some cool characters can make their post look better.

You said it right. Explaining anything in a difficult language is not people want. You are here to write what your readers can understand, so it’s better to provide them easy language with no complications.

Thanks for taking time and commenting.

      Enjoy your day.:)

      ~Ravi

  6. Hi Ravi, Very cool. I’m a big fan of special characters. I also have a special character keyboard on my laptop I use for other characters.

I use the Special Characters feature in WordPress frequently, mostly the arrow but sometimes other symbols as well. Thanks for giving us the codes for html, very handy!

    1. Hi Carolyn,

You have special character keyboard but most of people don’t have it so they need to know that WordPress has given this feature for them.

Many bloggers don’t even try to know more about WordPress and get unaware from these features.

Thanks a lot for stopping by.

      Enjoy your week ahead.:)

      ~Ravi

  7. Hi Ravi,

    1. Hi Mairaj,

Glad to see you again at my blog.:)

You know most of people don’t checkout WordPress more.

I was also like that but you know we all need to know more and more and I came to know about such special characters which can be used and included just by using one button.

Adding by codes is a great way but you know most of people avoid engaging with codes.

      Thanks for dropping your input.

      Have a wonderful week.:)

      ~Ravi

  8. Hi Ravi,

What an interesting blog post. I was very interested in your title – so thought I would check it out. ?

Ah, okay – in the editor there is a character button, but I have TinyMCE Advanced, and this was not shown as it was on the disabled list, so I have enabled it again.

When I was learning how to do my Tweetbles, sentences and phrases to be able to tweet on Twitter, I had to code these, and learned a few of the codes, like for a space, it’s   and also %20 – which helped me getting my Tweetables ready for publishing the post.

I’ll remember this great help, Ravi – and will be sharing with my friends. Thank you.

    Have a good evening.

    – Carol ?

    1. Hi Carol,

I always feel goo to get your comment at my blog posts.:)

You have installed the plugin but WordPress has the special character button which provides some great characters to use in your blog post.

For every new thing you will need to learn some codes. HTML is a basic language and easy to learn if you put some effort. The only thing you need to do is remembering the codes. They are appropriate in their work.

Thanks for taking time to say your kind words.

      Have a nice week ahead.:)

      ~Ravi

Good writing. You have mentioned all major special characters here. Brilliant work. But I want to add | to the posts. Is there any code for that ?

    Thanks in advance,

    Have a good day !

    1. Hi Manoj,

These special characters can be used effectively in your blog post.

You can add “|” from your keyboard as you have done it in this comment why don’t you need any code to implement it?

But still you want to use then you can do it as follow:-

      1). Hold your “alt” button.

      2). Press 1,2,4.

      3). Release the “alt” button.

Now you can see that your vertical bar has been added to your post.

Hope you can understand what I want to say.

      Enjoy your stay.:)

      ~Ravi
